I'm just guessing, but it sure looks like Livejournal's code-push madness of late [and subsequent fuck-up of pretty much EVERYTHING EVER] is a response to Dreamwidth's several recent code-pushes of awesomeness.

So LJ is now backpedaling from the binary gender issue. I'll link you guys to wtfbrain's post on the matter, because I received the same replies as she did. And I feel the exact same way -- diverting the issue to "you've been misinformed" is a shitty tactic. Still. Glad this won't come to light but -- MEGA FAIL, LJ.

As abbylee explains much better in this post, Livejournal has decided to change their gender options from female/male/unspecified [which was kinda shitty to begin with] to female/male only. A good way to make that NOT HAPPEN is to change the site's statistics -- if everyone change their gender to "unspecified", that will get their attention. So go edit ( Read more... )
